Health Benefits

Almonds
Almonds are a good source of vitamin E, phosphorus and magnesium. Almonds naturally contain no Cholesterol, however are able to regulate cholesterol in our bodies by reducing LDL ('bad') cholesterol and increasing HDL ('good') cholesterol. The Ayurvedic system of medicine considers almonds to be both brain and nervous system supporting. Almonds have also been proven by various medical journals to have anti-inflammatory, immune boosting and liver supporting properties.

Brazil Nuts
Organic Raw Activated Brazil Nuts offers a good source of Omega 6, magnesium and is one of the highest dietary sources of selenium available. Selenium is a rare mineral, which is incorporated into proteins to make selenoproteins, which are important antioxidant enzymes. The antioxidant properties of selenoproteins help prevent cellular damage from free radicals. Other selenoproteins help regulate thyroid function and play a role in the immune system.

Cashews
Cashews have a lower fat content than other nuts and approximately 75% of their fat is unsaturated fatty acids, with about 75% of this unsaturated fatty acid being oleic acid - the same heart-healthy monounsaturated fat found in olive oil. Studies show that oleic acid promotes good cardiovascular health. Studies of diabetic patients show that monounsaturated fat, when added to a low-fat diet, can help to reduce high triglyceride levels.

Coconut
Almost half of the Coconut’s fatty acid profile consists of lauric acid. Apart from being associated with anti-microbial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties, studies have found lauric acid increases good cholesterol in the body.

Chia Seeds
Chia seeds contain 13% fat, of which 64% is ALA (a-linolenic acid), also known as Omega 3, which is critical for our body to function at optimum levels. It cannot be synthesized by the human body but is vital for normal metabolism.
